Northumberland Masonic Charity Association

The Northumberland Masonic Charity Association (NMCA) was formed in 1918. It is inextricably linked with the Royal Masonic Benevolent Institute (RMBI) because the Trust will be the beneficiary of our 2020 Festival.

One of the most significant obstacles to fund-raising from Brethren, is the widely held belief that we are simply raising money to send to ‘London’. However, the following facts may help to dispel this mistaken notion.

In the five years up to the end of 2015, £630,402 had been given to beneficiaries in Northumberland and in 2016 alone; £152,860 was given to support 19 individuals in our Province.

Leave a Gift in your Will to Masonic Charity

The Brethren in the Province of Northumberland are only too well aware of the importance of the Masonic Charities, providing help for Masons, dependants and their families at time of need.

The Northumberland Masonic Charity Association (NMCA) was founded in 1918 and its main role is to raise funds to support the various Masonic Charities.

The Festival held in Northumberland in 2009 raised over £2.9m for the Royal Masonic Trust for Boys and Girls.

The current 2020 Festival for the benefit of the Royal Masonic Benevolent Institution helps to support and care for older Masons and their dependants.
One way of supporting the NMCA is to leave a Legacy to the Charity in your Will.

A suitable wording to be used is as follows:-
"I give to the Northumberland Masonic Charity Association the sum of insert amount in words pounds (£ insert amount in figures) absolutely free of all Tax.  The receipt of the Treasurer or other authorised officer for the time being of the Northumberland Masonic Charity Association shall be a good and sufficient receipt of the bequest."

If you have already made a Will you could still leave a Legacy to the NMCA by making a Codicil to your Will.

A Codicil to your Will leaving a Legacy to the NMCA could be prepared for you. If you require any further information, please contact W. Bro. David Auld, Provincial Grand Charity Steward.
