Luke Carter Aged 7 Runs the Distance for TLC Funds

Luke William Carter aged 7 (shown below) has raised through sponsorship £102.50p for the Teddies for Loving Care Northumberland Central Group by running in the BUPA Junior & Mini Great North Run on Saturday 15th September.

Luke got involved with TLC through his Grandfather, Alan Hunter Secretary of St Margaret’s Lodge No. 5816. Having seen one of the TLC fund raising lapel badges on his Grandfather’s coat and finding out what it represented, he asked his Grandfather [Alan] if he could raise money for the TLC when he ran in the Mini Great North Run.

Alan contacted the Secretary and received confirmation that it was more than acceptable for Luke to support the charity, and was supplied with appropriate sponsor forms displaying the charity logo and details. Alan then had a tee shirt produced (as shown above) so that everyone supporting the runners or taking part in the race would know who Luke was running in aid of. Luke had a great day and is very proud of what he had achieved.

The TLC Committee are very grateful for Luke’s contribution, and have sent him a letter of congratulations and thanks for his contribution and support.
