W Bro. William Willis Storey was initiated into Commercial Travellers Lodge No. 3700 on 23rd April 1960. His profession was a commercial traveller, the last remaining brother in the Lodge to follow the tradition of members being drawn from that line of work, as the founding fathers of the Lodge were in those days.

W Bro. Storey rose quickly to the rank of Worshipful Master in just nine years. His ritual work was, during all of his offices of the very high quality. It was not only word perfect but it was delivered with meaning and feeling. This made him the obvious choice for the Office of Director of Ceremony (D. C.) and so he was D. C. officially for nine years. In addition, he would cover for an absent officer with short notice. In fact, W. Bro. Bill still delivers the charge to the Wardens at Installation meetings with his usual faultless ritual and fitting emotion.

Bill continues to attend its coach evenings in order to see that the Lodge’s tradition is maintained and supports the Lodge’s social evenings with his wife. He is also a fine artist and exhibits his work from time to time. To keep fit, he and his wife regularly attend dancing classes in their area.

W. Bro. Storey received his Provincial honours of PProvJGD in 1981 and his promotion to PProvJGW in 1987.

The presentation took place at Corbridge Road Masonic Hall on Friday 21st May 2010. W Bro. John Chan PSGD, the Assistant Provincial Grand Master presented the 50th Year Certificate to W Bro. Storey and wished him good health so that he can continue to enjoy his Freemasonry for many years to come. Finally the Worshipful Master, W Bro. Bill Young PProvGReg congratulated him on behalf of the Lodge.

At the festive board, the Lodge presented Bill with a bottle of whisky and a beautiful and specially made Masonic cake decorated with a square and compasses.
