50th Certificate for Robert Stewart Dunn PProvJGW

W. Bro. Robert Stewart Dunn was initiated into Crickets’ Lodge No. 7508 in November 1958 which was a very proud day for his father Sid, a senior Past Master of the Lodge. He took the Chair of King Solomon in 1971 and soon after he became a joining member of Northumbrian Masters’ Lodge No. 3477. He was Master of this prestigious Lodge in 1997 and held the Office of Treasurer for a number of years.

In May 1990, W. Bro. Stew became a founding member of Oriental Lodge No. 9371 and in fact, he was its Founding Treasurer for a number of years. It was with his skill and guidance that Oriental Lodge’s finance and structure were so firmly rooted. The success of Oriental Lodge was due to the solid foundation laid by as well as the hard work undertaken by its Founders, in particularly W. Bro. Dunn.

W. Bro. Dunn received his Provincial honours of PProvSGD in 1982 and his promotion to PProvJGW in 1990.

The presentation took place at Corbridge Road Masonic Hall on Monday 15th March 2010. W Bro. Tom Foo PGStB, the Reporting Grand Officer of Oriental Lodge gave a brief account of Stew’s Masonic history and then read the content of his 50th Year Certificate. W Bro. John Chan PSGD, the Assistant Provincial Grand Master then presented the Certificate to W Bro. Dunn and wished him well so that he can continue to enjoy his Freemasonry for many years to come. Finally the Worshipful Master, W Bro. John Wallace PGStB congratulated him on behalf of the Lodge and presented him with a cheque for his named charity.

To conclude a memorable evening, the Festive Board was then held in the new Royal Circle Chinese Restaurant in Stowell Street, Newcastle upon Tyne.
