50th Certificate for Atkinson

On Thursday 3rd February 2011, W. Bro James Atkinson PProvJGW of The Victory Lodge No. 3986 was presented with a certificate to mark his 50th Anniversary as a Freemason by W. Bro Gerry Crichton PAGDC on behalf of the R W Provincial Grand Master.

W. Bro Atkinson was initiated into The Victory Lodge on 30th January 1961, was the Master in 1974 & 1975 and Secretary from 1987 to 1999, after which he served as either a Deacon or Warden. In 1984 his hard work was rewarded by the Province when he was appointed PProvDGReg and he was promoted to PProvJGW in 1991.

W. Bro Atkinson did not restrict his services solely to the Lodge, he was also a very active member of The Victory Chapter, being 1st Principal in 1985, and served as Treasurer for many years. He was also an active member of The Victory Lodge of Instruction and helped many brethren to learn their ritual in readiness for the Chair.

W. Bro Crichton and the Master of the Lodge jointly present W. Bro Atkinson with his certificate after which W. Bro Atkinson made a brief reply of thanks to the many brethren from different lodges who had attended to witness this important occasion in his Masonic career.

At the festive board an inscribed decanter was presented to W. Bro. Atkinson by W. Bro John Holland PProvJGW of Lodge De Loraine No. 541 who has known him for many years. Once again W. Bro. Atkinson gave thanks to the brethren who had attended and said that he was looking forward to many more years in the Craft.
