George Stephenson Centenary

George Stephenson Lodge No. 3390 celebrated its Centenary on Wednesday 30th September 2009 in Wylam Masonic Hall. R. W. Bro. Peter Magnay DL, the Provincial Grand Master of Northumberland and the Officers of Provincial Grand Lodge performed the Centenary ceremony which was witnessed by a large number of distinguished guests, visitors and Lodge members.

George Stephenson Lodge was consecrated on Thursday 23rd September 1909 at 3.30 p.m. in the Grand Assembly Rooms (now form part of Newcastle University Sports Hall), Barras Bridge, Newcastle upon Tyne. The Consecrating Officer was R. W. Provincial Grand Master, Bro. Colonel Charles Napier-Clavering JP, assisted by the W. Deputy Provincial Grand Master Alderman Richard Henry Holmes JP PGD and the Officers of Provincial Grand Lodge.

At the Centenary banquet, the Worshipful Master, W. Bro. William Renwick presented our Provincial Grand Master with a magnificent cheque of £3,390 (equals to its Lodge No.) for our next RMBI Festival.
