Cheques for Two Local Hospices

Two local hospices received cheques from the Freemasons’ Grand Charity based in London. On Friday 5th December 2008, Worshipful Brother Vic Wood, the Assistant Provincial Grand Master of Northumberland presented a cheque to Anita Irving of St Oswald's Hospice for £4,341 and on Monday 8th December 2008 he also presented Suzanne McKenna of Marie Curie Hospice with a cheque for £4,196. The cheques were gratefully received by these two local charities.

The Freemasons’ Grand Charity has given over £7.5million to the Hospice Programme nationally over the past 24 years with £123,833 coming to 4 such services in Northumberland during the same period.
