Once again The Provincial Grand Lodge of Northumberland was represented at the Glendale Annual Show on August Bank Holiday Monday, by W.Bro’s Dave Watson, John Ternent, Les Murray and Bro Richard Whiteley. A fine body of men!

For a change the weather was spectacular which brought the crowds out but the heat in the marquee at times was unbearable, but no complaints.

At  Show start time things were slow to pick up but that soon changed and the Team was busy all day. As usual local visitors expressed their interest in what Freemasonry is about and were quite surprised to find out we are not a “Secret Society”. A great number of families with young children came to chat as their sons and daughters were the proud owners of a TLC Teddy (Teddies for Loving Care) from their visits to hospital Accident and Emergency departments. Quite a number of ladies wished to know how we get away with being a male only organisation but seemed to be happy when we explained that there is a female version.

We also had Masonic visitors from Middlesex, Staffordshire, London, Kent and the Durham Provincial Chaplain.

All in all it was a successful day in a lovely setting with beautiful weather.
