Bank holiday Monday at the beginning of June, the sun came out at last and so did the crowds.  We had the busiest time to date on the Northumberland Freemasons stand with people of varied ages interested in what we were doing.
The MP for Hexham paid us a visit and wanted to know about Freemasonry in Hexham and our charity work.  The wife of a past PGM of Norfolk said we (Freemasons) did a fantastic job.  Masons from other provinces and other countries liked the idea of informing the public about Freemasonry and would take the idea back home.  Lots of ladies talking affectionately about their late husbands who were Masons and the good times they had at Ladies Nights.  We found that quite a number of Masons were reluctant to admit they were in Craft but opened up after talking to us.  One couple were very happy with information we gave them about the Royal Masonic Trust for Girls and Boys which they were previously unaware of.  There was also the possibility of two or three candidates whose friends were Masons but wanted more information which we were able to provide.

The TLC is becoming very well recognised by parents and children who have benefitted by receiving a Teddy when attending hospital.  Andrew Smith asked one lady if she knew where the Teddy came from.  ”The hospital” was the answer!  After Andrew’s explanation the lady now thinks we are brilliant.

All in all, it was a very successful day.

Why not visit us at the Glendale Show near Wooler on August Bank Holiday Monday?
