The Grand Festival was held in the Grand Connaught Rooms after Grand Lodge Investiture. Over 450 Freemasons from England and Overseas wined and dined in the presence of the Most Worshipful Grand Master, HRH  the Duke of Kent and his Executive Officers. As usual the Grand Festival was hosted by the Board of Grand Stewards. The first Board of Grand Stewards was appointed in 1728 to take on the task of arranging the Grand Feast from the Grand Wardens. According to the Book of Constitutions, the duties of the Grand Stewards are to 'assist in the arrangements for the Quarterly Communications and other meetings of the Grand Lodge' and so 'to regulate the Grand Festival under the direction of the Grand Master ... that no expense shall fall on the Grand Lodge'.

The following photograph was taken at its Champagne Reception prior to the dinner to mark this splendid and memorable occasion.
