In May 2013 the staff of the home took the residents on a day trip to Beamish museum, as you would imagine this was a great success and enjoyed by all.

In July Scarbrough Court Garden Party was held in glorious weather a great success.

Future events planned at the home include;
30th October at 2pm Halloween Party with an Elvis tribute act, refreshments will be served.
23rd November 12 noon Christmas Fair

For next year the Friends have plans to hold a Beer Festival in June at Gateshead Masonic Hall, plans are well advanced more details soon. A Summer Fair is also planned.

A number of significant donations have been received in recent months from families and friends of freemasons sadly no longer with us, after the death of Brian Hepple, a well respected Northumbrian mason, last year a total of £675 was received by the Friends in his memory. More recently a Cumbrian mason WB Douglas Lowe and his wife Audrey became residents of the home. Douglas had an immediate impact with ideas and willingness to get involved, sadly Douglas became unwell and after a few short months passed away. A lover of good whisky Douglas had a considerable stock which was donated by his widow Audrey to his Lodge, Brigantes, to raise funds for the Friends. The Lodge recently raffled the first 2 bottles of whisky raising the magnificent sum of £217, which was rounded up to £250 by the Lodge and recently presented to the Friends.

The Royal Kent No 20 Preceptory of Knights Templar recently celebrated its bi-centenary, a number of charitable donations were made to mark the occasion including a donation of £1000 to the Friends, very much appreciated.
