Mrs. Beattie Godfreys celebrated her 100th birthday at Scarbrough Court on Monday 20th January 2014. We had a wonderful afternoon where all of the residents gathered to celebrate this very happy occasion.

We witnessed the opening of the special Telegram from Her Majesty the Queen and Lesley Dawson, Home Manager presented Beattie with a beautiful bouquet of flowers. Jean Howe and Pauline Robson (both residents) also presented Beattie with gifts. We all sang ‘Happy Birthday’ song at the top of our voices and a fabulous Birthday Cake was brought out by the catering staff. While the cake was being shared around Beattie played a selection of songs on the piano for the residents to sing along.

The result was a right old fashioned knees up. Beattie was happy that she was able to play the piano for the residents on her 100th birthday as this is something she has always enjoyed enormously throughout her life.

One of our residents, Eric Davidson from Carliol Lodge No. 5419 thanked Scarbrough Court on behalf of all the residents for a lovely afternoon and asked me especially to send the details and pictures off to the Provincial Office.
