Every year a large Teddy Bear is bought and a number draw is held at the end of the year. Our 2014 winner was W Bro. Brian Ruderman (pictured with Brother Bear). We would like to thank him and all those who supported this initiative.

The proceeds of the above draw were used to buy Theatre tickets for last month's Cinderella Panto at the Tyne Theatre. Those tickets were then presented by W Bro. Phil Sanderson to children and mothers from the SSAFA (Armed Forces Charity family support group).

Since then we received a lovely thank you letter from SSAFA which stated, "All the families had a fantastic time, it was the first ever pantomime for some of the families and it will be a memory that I'm sure they won't forget."

We intend to run a similar campaign this year, again sending as many children as we can to this year's Aladdin pantomime at the Tyne Theatre. Your continued support is not only appreciated but your generosity is making a difference and is being seen in action within our local community.

We would like to thank all those kind hearted and generous people who have donated presents to the Salvation Army at the Hall. Well over 100 parcels were received by the Salvation Army representative pictured, along with Company Secretary Bill Taylor handing them over the week before Christmas and thereafter delivered to a fitting home. Your kindness, I am sure, will have put a smile on many children’s faces on Christmas Day. We thank you all and truly appreciate the giving spirit of many Masonic families.
