News from Grand Lodge
 
Annual Investiture of Grand Officers – 30th April 2008
Admission to the Annual Investiture is by ticket only. Applications can be made by brethren qualified to attend, (Past Grand Officers, Masters, Wardens {not past wardens} and Past Masters qualified under Rule 9 B.of C.) in writing to The Grand Secretary, Freemasons’ Hall, Great Queen Street, London, WC2B 5AZ between 1st March and 31st March 2008.
 
Grand Orator
It is proposed to permit the appointment of a Grand Orator, to be mirrored at Metropolitan, Provincial and District level, who will have the responsibility of managing and organising talks, lectures and orations. As well as the administrative functions of the office he may also write and deliver talks, lectures and orations himself.

Masonic Year Book
The next edition will be available in the Summer of 2008 from the Grand Secretary’s Office at Great Queen Street at a cost of £10.

Prestonian Lectures 2008
The lecture, entitled “The Language of the Ritual” will be delivered by W.Bro.R.D.T.Sillett, PJGD under the auspices of the following Lodges: Christ’s Hospital Lodge No. 2650 (London): Warwickshire Masters Lodge, No, 4538 (Warwickshire), Torbay Masters Lodge, No.8227 (Devonshire) and District Grand Lodge of East Africa.

Annual Promotions Meeting – 29th February 2008
The John Stephenson Lecture Lodge will once again host a meeting of the Provincial Grand Lodge for the purpose of investing those brethren who have been promoted in Provincial Grand Lodge. The Right Worshipful Provincial Grand Master, Peter Magnay will preside and address the brethren.
The meeting which is to be held at the Masonic Hall, Albion Road, North Shields will commence at 6.15pm.  All brethren attending should be seated by 5.45pm.

Fund raising events

Sponsored Bicycle Ride - Sunday 6th April 2008
At the initiative of the Lodge of Friendship No.6675 brethren are to cycle from the Tweed to the Tyne (a distance of 86 miles). Hexham Choral Event – Saturday 5th April 2008

For the fourth consecutive year Hexham Priory Lodge No.6318 are organising a Charity Concert. This year’s event will be held at Queens Hall, Hexham on Saturday 5th April 2008, commencing at 7.30pm. The entertainment will once again be provided by the Ravenswood Singers under the musical directorship of Joan Trainor F.T.C.L.B.Ed (Hons) who will give a performance of their much acclaimed Summer Show.
