Another new year, indeed decade, is upon us. What does it herald for Freemasonry in general and our Province, more especially our Lodges and Chapters, in particular? No doubt there will be feelings of optimism, assurances of support and promises of candidates which we must all strive to maintain and pursue so that such positive conduct and attitudes are exaggerated and are not allowed to wane.
The change of weather with the arrival of winter, in its more recognizable seasonal form of snow and ice, perhaps serves to remind us that climate change is, after all, not entirely of our own making. What is, however, within our making is bringing about a change in our “whether” – whether we go regularly to our Lodges and Chapter and visit others and support their officers in the same way that we were supported; whether we are in all conscience discharging our responsibility to Masonic charity.
By adopting this positive outlook I trust that we will experience and enjoy a Masonic climate change – something which I detect is already happening – and see all our Lodges and Chapters prosper.
Peter Magnay – Provincial Grand Master
